Christine is an eternal optimist about the advancement of sustainability through the design of processes, products and places. Christine’s diverse experience enables her to note trends and technologies and bring benefit across project types, from green building projects to educational efforts to sustainability planning. As managing Principal of evolve environment::architecture and a registered architect, Christine brings creative and strategic solutions to projects as diverse as the award winning design of the “extended stay” house to the strategic sustainability planning for the David L. Lawrence Convention Center. She has consulted with companies like ALCOA, Giant Eagle and Phipps Conservatory on greening practices and places. She has helped build capacity for communities and government agencies in the US and Australia as they design sustainable futures.
Christine teaches architecture, landscape design, and sustainable design at Carnegie Mellon University, Chatham University and Slippery Rock University. She supports organizations who promote design and planning and currently is Board Chair for the Community Design Center of Pittsburgh and is a past board member of Green Building Alliance, Three Rivers Association for Sustainable Energy (TRASE), and Pennsylvania Environmental Council. She received her Bachelor of Architecture degree from Carnegie Mellon University and studied architecture and sustainable design in Scandinavia. Christine is Registered Architect and a LEED Accredited Professional.
