Cole Williams

Cole believes that sustainability needs not belong solely to environmentalists or politicians. In a sustainable world, a sense of community will allow the individual to propagate a life that is conscious of it’s effect on the ecology, economy and future of civilization. When our goals are accomplished, the term sustainability will no longer be a fad but rather a way of life born out of a respect and connection to the wild world that we have so lost contact with.

Cole received his B.A. in Psychology and Neuroscience from Edinboro University and worked in the field for a number of years. His passion for improving quality of life grew overtime and shifted when Cole decided to pursue a career in Sustainability. He attended Slippery Rock University, graduating with an M.S. in Sustainable Systems. While there, Cole combined his interests and focused his research on topics regarding the psychology of peek-oil and reasons surrounding society’s disagreement about climate change. Cole’s science and logic-oriented skill set allow him to look at the issues facing sustainability with a rational and analytic eye.

As an avid outdoorsman, Cole has enjoyed the outdoor recreation opportunities in Western Pennsylvania his entire life which, has fostered a love for the environment leading him to participate in initiatives to preserve it. In graduate school Cole worked with the Macoskey Center in an effort to achieve a LEED certification for their classroom building. He also worked with Allegheny County’s Office of Sustainability and Purchasing Department to re-write their purchasing policy to reflect a commitment to buying environmentally preferable products. He also volunteers his time with local outdoor recreation organizations to help make the outdoors more accessible to everyone. cole@evolveea.com
