Marc Mondor to Teach Sustainable Buildings Course at Chatham University

A new course called Sustainable Buildings and LEED Rating System will kick off this fall at Chatham University’s Falk School of Sustainability, with evolveEA Principal Marc Mondor teaching as Adjunct Faculty. Drawing upon evolveEA’s 12 years of experience with building rating systems, as well as Marc’s leadership in the green building industry, the course will enhance Chatham’s curriculum in the Falk School of Sustainability graduate program. The Falk School is based at the Eden Hall Campus, which is pursuing a combination of Living Building Challenge, LEED Platinum, SITES and other green building certifications for its “Living Learning Campus”.
evolveEA has been assisting the Eden Hall design team with LEED documentation for some of the buildings on the campus. The 39-unit Sustainable Buildings course, like other courses taught at the Falk School, will use the Eden Hall Campus as a laboratory where students can explore the challenges presented by climate change in a real-world setting where students and professionals collaborate to advance the best possible solutions for a sustainable environment. Marc is enthusiastic about supporting Chatham University’s sustainability curriculum. He stated that the school has demonstrated an “uncompromising vision” to lead the world in building and nurturing a campus that embodies a commitment to sustainability and environmental education.
